My Side is a Care Package inclusion widely read as a relationship record built around presence and possession — Drake wanting a partner physically and emotionally beside him, with the familiar undertone of control that runs through much of his romantic writing. The mood is hushed and nocturnal, consistent with the after-hours R&B register that defines a large share of his loosie output. As a non-album track it appealed to fans for exactly that intimacy and lack of single-sized polish. On the compilation it adds to the album's portrait of Drake's quieter, more unguarded mode, the side of his catalog Care Package was assembled to formally preserve.
