Free Spirit
Free Spirit is a Care Package inclusion widely read as a record about autonomy and restlessness — a partner, or Drake himself, resisting being pinned down by expectations or attachment. It fits the introspective-but-detached strain of his loosie catalog, where freedom and intimacy are constantly in tension. The mood is loose and reflective rather than anthemic, the kind of unguarded song that found its audience outside the official albums. On the compilation it adds another shade to the project's portrait of Drake's non-album voice: the part of his writing more interested in ambivalence than resolution, which is much of what made these loosies durable with fans.
