Per the liner notes it contains a slowed-down vocal sample of Jennifer Lopez's 1999 single 'If You Had My Love' on the chorus; Lopez had publicly hinted at working with Drake weeks before More Life's release, and the song is widely read as a hazy meditation on a past love and the intensity of feeling it still triggers, with the dreamy, reverb-heavy production blurring memory into the present. British rapper Dave is heard on the outro. In Genius's 'Deconstructed,' Hagler said he made the beat while grieving a nephew who died in a car accident, lending its 'fever' an undertow of loss.
