PARTYNEXTDOOR is the recording name of Jahron Brathwaite, a Mississauga, Ontario singer, songwriter, and producer who was the first artist signed to OVO Sound in 2013. He produced and wrote on Drake records as far back as Own It and Come Thru on Nothing Was the Same, then continued with credits on Views, More Life, Scorpion, Honestly Nevermind, and the 2025 collaborative album Some Sexy Songs 4 U with Drake. His production is built around airy synth chords, slow-tempo programmed drums, and melodic phrases that he often writes for both himself and his collaborators. As a writer he is credited on Rihanna's Work and Wild Thoughts, Beyonce's Bigger, and many of the OVO Sound roster's vocal releases. Within the Drake universe his role is unusual: he functions as a solo artist, a behind-the-scenes writer, and a co-producer in the same career, which is why his name shows up across album credits in multiple roles. The 2025 joint project with Drake formalized a creative partnership that had been building for more than a decade and confirmed his place as one of OVO's longest-tenured creative voices.
